BEHAVIOURAL POLICY
At Consortium eLearning Canada, we strive to foster a positive, respectful, and productive environment for learning, collaboration, and innovation. This Behavioral Policy outlines the standards of conduct expected from all members, staff, and learners to ensure an atmosphere of mutual respect and professional growth. We expect everyone engaged with Consortium eLearning to uphold these standards in all interactions, both online and offline.
Professionalism
All individuals engaged with Consortium eLearning must exhibit professionalism in their communication, work, and behavior.
Respectful, courteous, and collaborative behavior is expected at all times, whether in-person, in virtual meetings, or in online learning environments. We expect members and learners to adhere to deadlines, participate actively, and contribute constructively to discussions and projects. All individuals are expected to dress appropriately when attending live sessions, whether virtual or in person, and to represent Consortium eLearning in a positive and professional manner.
Respect and Inclusivity
Discrimination, harassment, or any form of disrespectful behavior based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or any other protected characteristic will not be tolerated. Consortium eLearning promotes an environment that values diversity and inclusion. Everyone is encouraged to express their unique perspectives and experiences in a respectful manner. Disagreements should be handled respectfully, with a focus on constructive dialogue. Personal attacks, intimidation, or hostile behavior will be addressed promptly.
Harassment and Bullying
Consortium eLearning is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and harassment-free environment for all members and learners. Any form of bullying or harassment, whether verbal, written, or physical, will not be tolerated. This includes bullying based on appearance, ability, gender identity, or other personal characteristics. Harassment also includes online behaviors such as inappropriate comments, cyberbullying, or unwanted contact via social media or digital platforms.
Integrity and Honesty
All members, learners, and staff are expected to act with integrity and honesty in their work and interactions. Plagiarism, academic dishonesty, or misrepresentation of one’s work will not be tolerated. All work submitted should be original and properly cited. Misleading or false information regarding qualifications, experience, or any other aspect of one’s role with Consortium eLearning is prohibited.
Communication Etiquette
All communications (verbal, written, or digital) must be conducted with respect, professionalism, and clarity.
Constructive feedback should be given in a manner that encourages growth and learning, rather than discouraging or belittling others. The use of offensive language, derogatory remarks, or inappropriate humor in communication is prohibited.
Confidentiality and Privacy
All individuals are expected to respect the confidentiality of personal, academic, and organizational information. Sensitive information, including learner data, organizational processes, and private communications, must not be shared or disclosed without proper consent. All communication platforms and online spaces used by Consortium eLearning should be treated as confidential and not used to disclose private or confidential information without permission.
Accountability and Responsibility
Individuals are expected to take responsibility for their actions and behaviors and to be accountable for their impact on others. If a behavioral issue arises, individuals are encouraged to address it constructively and seek support from appropriate channels within Consortium eLearning. We encourage individuals to report any violations of this policy through designated channels, without fear of retaliation.
Collaboration and Teamwork
Teamwork is vital in achieving the goals of Consortium eLearning. Individuals are expected to collaborate effectively, share knowledge, and support one another. We value diverse perspectives and encourage open discussions that lead to creative problem-solving and innovation. Conflicts within teams should be addressed professionally, with a focus on resolving issues and maintaining a positive working environment.
Use of Technology and Resources
All members and learners are expected to use Consortium eLearning’s technology resources, including online platforms, computers, and software, responsibly and ethically. Technology should not be used to disrupt the learning environment, engage in inappropriate activities, or violate the rights of others. Any unauthorized use of Consortium eLearning’s intellectual property, including course materials, software, and resources, is prohibited.
Substance Abuse and Disruptive Behavior
The use of drugs or alcohol that affects behavior, performance, or interactions in Consortium eLearning’s learning or work environments is strictly prohibited. Disruptive behavior, including excessive noise, distraction, or failure to follow guidelines during live sessions, will not be tolerated. Consortium eLearning maintains a zero-tolerance policy for any illegal activity, including the use or distribution of illegal substances.
Disciplinary Actions
Violation of this Behavioral Policy may result in corrective actions, including verbal warnings, written warnings, suspension from certain activities, or termination of involvement with Consortium eLearning. Disciplinary actions will be taken in accordance with the severity of the violation and will involve a fair and transparent process. In cases of harassment, bullying, or other serious violations, immediate intervention may be necessary to protect individuals and maintain a safe environment.
